With Technology for All: Strategies for Integrating Technology into Every Classroom

This one day post-conference computer workshop will tie into this year's convention theme, “On Common Ground,” by addressing shared aims and shared strategies for technology-enriched instruction in the English language arts. Workshop participants will learn practical ways to integrate technology into English language arts curricula regardless of instructional level or technological expertise. Participants will experience hands-on engagement in a number of computer applications and teaching strategies. Workshop leaders, incorporating group discussion and one-to-one coaching, will guide participants through short lessons that incorporate the areas listed below. Following each discussion, participants will have ample time to ask additional questions about incorporating each application into their schools.

  • Location
The workshop will be located in the Daub Building, 635 Smithfield Street, which is within several blocks of the Convention Center. It is an easy walk from there. There is a blue canopy over the entrance to the school. As you enter the building, there is a flight of stairs which takes you to the mezzanine and the elevator which will take you to the third floor where the classrooms are located. If anyone needs a Handicap Accessible entrance, they can enter through the Smithfield Cafe Restaurant which is next door to the school. There is a parking garage almost next door to the building if anyone is driving. We are currently planning on using rooms 302 and 303. You will be informed should these rooms change.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be no shuttle service provided on Monday. If you are staying in a hotel that is located outside of the downtown area, the hotels have agreed to provide shuttle service from their property. Make sure you have their phone number available so you can call for a return pick-up. For additional information on the location please contact Robert Rozema.
